the place of the individual within the apparatus....
"The function of film is to train human beings in the apperceptions and reactions needed to deal with a vast apparatus whose role in their lives is expanding almost daily. Dealing with this apparatus also teaches them that technology will release them from their enslavement to the powers of the apparatus only when humanity's whole constitution has adapted itself to the new productive forces which the second technology has set free"
fascism and its aesthetisizing of political life and the culmination of war....
"All efforts to aesthetize politics culminate in one point. That one point is war. War, and only war, makes it possible to set a goal for mass movements on the grandest scale while preserving traditional property relations."
So thus....Video Games + war ? allow the necessary transparency into the apparatus to involve us not only in the resolution of technologically interfacing with reality - but also continues to build on the idea of distanced communities both artificially developed within the game and also with the crew of people who spend WAY TOO MUCH time playing these games(not to judge). The ever presence of war (or other types of violence) within video games and film can also attest to his argument of the 'point of war.'
